Honeymoon Cruise!

Our alarms went off at 3:20 this morning! We had no more than 3 hours of sleep that night because we stayed up late watching White Collar. Haha We got ready and loaded up in our car, drove to McKay's families house where his mom was waiting to drive us to the airport so we could fly out to LA at 6:00am.

We arrived in LA around 7:00am and had a whole day ahead of us before we could check in around 3-4pm in the afternoon to our hotel. Luckily we were able to drop our luggage off at the hotel so we didn't have to lug it around with us all day. After dropping it off we decided to take a tour around LA on our feet. Haha We needed some food and wanted to check out the beach. I was wearing boots with 3 inch heels! We did not realize our fun walk was going to become quite a trek. Three miles later and some very sore feet we finally made it to the beach.
It had been years since either of us had been to a beach and we were like little kids playing games in the waves and building sand castles on the beach for hours. It wasn't the prettiest beach in the world but we sure were excited to be on our honeymoon together and made the most with what we had. Plus we had HOURS to kill. After spending all morning and some early afternoon at the beach we decided to make the trek back to our hotel in hopes that we could check in. My feet still hurt like crazy, but we found what is called a Lime Bike that you can rent out. It was just what we needed! Unfortunately we couldn't figure out how to rent two on the App so McKay let me ride the bike home and he just walked along side me. We covered atleast 5 miles that day on foot.

First Day on the Cruise Ship:

We set sail and waited on deck to watch the huge ship sail away from the harbor and out to sea. After unpacking in our cute little cabin, we decided to take the next first few hours on the ship to explore and see all our options. But mostly just to find where all the wonderful food was :)

While waiting for dinner we found a cafe that was serving a variety of foods. I got 12 shrimp and ate them all! I love my shrimp!

Just arrived in our room on the cruise. It was so small and cute!

The first few days were spent eating, relaxing by the pool, watching shows, and enjoying all the entertainment the cruise ship had to offer. They can really keep you busy if you want to be!

All fancy for our night out!

Waiting for an open table in the dining room. Some nights the wait was so long!

My Birthday!

Today we went on an excursion to some islands. I spent my birthday snorkeling, paddle boarding, whale watching, and enjoying the warm sun of Puerto Vallarta. Loved it!

Watching whales on our way back from snorkeling and paddle boarding.

We sat at a big round table with 3 other couples for dinner that night and then some of the servers and chef came and all sang "Happy Birthday!" to me and I got a fancy dessert. It was great! McKay's appetite had really grown throughout the day so he ate 3 entree's, 1 appetizer, lots of drinks, and 2 desserts. Haha! All the older couples at our table got a big kick out of him. And I have no idea how he eats so much sometimes.

Mazatlan!

Our excursion for the day took us up into the hills of Mazatlan to visit small villages and historic buildings. This excursion was especially fun to get a little more feel for the every day culture and McKay loved talking to the natives.

A pottery making hut. McKay was able to talk to a guy making pottery there and the guy offered for me to make a sun out of clay! It was great fun and then in the end he let me take home another sun that looked just like it for free (I couldn't take the one I made because it had to take several days to dry).

Cabo!

Lover's Beach! The colors of the water were amazing and the sand so soft. Much better than the beach we played at in LA.

Final Days!

The last 2 days we were much more lazy. I got terrible motion sickness on the way back from Cabo to LA because they increased the speed of the ship by a lot and it was so very windy. This night was another formal night but I was not feeling up to it so we stayed in our room. This picture was taken when we decided to venture out of our room to get food and ginger ale to hopefully help with my upset tummy. After throwing up all the food I had just ate I decided I better get Dramamine if I was to last the next 24 hours on that ship. And it helped a ton!!

Our ship arrived in LA much earlier than we were anticipating. We were off the ship by 9:00 and our flights weren't booked until 8:00 that evening. We had no idea what to do so we caught a ride to the airport and spent the day sleeping and playing games on McKay's phone on airport chairs. It was quite an interesting day! The time went by much faster once we realized we could watch movies on his phone. That saved us from going insane!

I am just so glad McKay and I decided to book our honeymoon 4 months after our wedding. I think it was so much better that way! We really had a lot of fun and definitely bonded even more as you should on your honeymoon. And what better way to spend my 22nd birthday and start a new year. Definitely give a cruise 5 thumbs up! (Just make sure you take Dramamine) :)
